As I mentioned recently, I’m going to have less time to write and podcast about current events now that the homeschooling year has started. I thought I would share the financial resources I’m currently using so you can do your own research.
I don’t offer financial advice and I have no interest in telling people what to do with their money. I offer money saving tips that work for me and will write posts making observations about money from time to time. That’s about it.
I strongly encourage you right now, however, to be sure you are making very deliberate and carefully thought out decisions. We are in the midst of a significant, historic financial shift not only in the USA but around the world. You WILL be impacted whether you are informed or not.
Like current events, I follow a group of people who I think offer a different perspective on things. I don’t follow any of these people religiously although I do tend to check out at least part of each video they produce. As with the news sources shared, I tend to watch people for a time and then cycle around to someone different. A year ago I don’t think I was following any of these people (except Patara). I’m always looking for a fresh perspective.
Here they are in no particular order. I’m embedding a recent sample video from each person that you can watch right here.

Appalachia Homestead With Patara
I’ve mentioned Patara’s channel before. You might find this weird on a list of financial resources, but it’s not. Everything she talks about is related to your finances.
Southern Prepper 1
I’ve also mentioned the Southern Prepper 1 channel. Again, you might wonder why this is part of a post on finances. Everything he discusses on his Boots on the Ground videos is related to your finances.
Greggory Mannarino
Updated 11-1-22 – I learned today he is a 33rd degree Mason. I’ve had some concerns about him in recent weeks, but this confirmed for me that I no longer wanted to recommend him. He has also become more profane and I’m not going to watch that even for the good info he might offer at times.
I have only recently started watching his videos. Disclaimer that he sometimes uses profanity and makes off-color references. If you are kind of overwhelmed by big picture financial stuff, he offers some good insights on a more accessible level – with lots of snark.
He posts a video before the start of the financial day and at the end. Did I mention the snark? I thoroughly enjoy his delivery style because we are living in Clown World and he points it out so well. His style may not work for everyone who reads here, but he makes me laugh out loud because what we are living through is so ridiculous. You know my motto – Laugh or cry.
Jeremiah Babe
JB lives in the Palm Desert area of Southern California and is already planning his escape to a red state (leaning towards Alabama). He does an evening video almost every day with highlights of financial stories and offers his perspective. Christian man.
His views and commentary are heavily influenced by the fact that he has lived in SoCal for so long. You’ll see what I mean if you watch him for a bit. It’s not bad. Just interesting to listen to what he talks about and rails against that is far removed from my life in the Midwest.
(BTW… Related to this video… I think Target is in trouble because they have totally alienated a significant portion of the country with their incessant Leftist propaganda. I will only go there as a very last resort.)
Maneco64
This man lives in London and worked in the London financial industry for many years. His tagline is “Home of Alternative Economics and Contrarian Views” which is accurate. He has an interesting background which leads to interesting videos. He’s also outside the USA which I think is helpful.
I Allegedly
If you are looking for someone who is more low-key and chatty about economics, money, etc. then Dan might be a good fit for you.
It’s a little too basic to give me what I’m looking for a lot of the time, but I still keep an eye on what he’s talking about because he does ferret out some good info. He goes all over SoCal to walk around and talk.
New: Economic Ninja
I’ve watched this man off and on. He does some helpful, short segments about various parts of the economy and investing. Oftentimes I’ll watch just a few minutes to get the basic facts.
I hope you find this helpful! If you have more suggestions for our community, please leave them in the comments. ♥

Hi Lea,
I’m not sure where you are subscribed and this is the first comment I’ve seen from your email address. I don’t see you listed as a subscriber to my newsletter, feed.it, One Signal, or having left a comment.
I’d like to help, but I’m not sure what you are receiving.
